Over the last couple of months I've been toying with some ideas of how the club can make some money out of the pictures I've taken over the last year, like having 12"x8"copies of the team photo for sale in the club shop. One of the other ways I'm looking at is to make a Bury Town calender for 2011, but before I get to ahead of myself it's time to ask a couple of obvious questions. 1/ Is there enough interest & potential buyers. 2/ What type of calender would you prefer e.g wall or desk. 3/ How much should it cost, I was thinking somewhere in the region of £10-£15 (trying to stay at the lower end of this price range if possible). Do you think this is asking to much & if so what do you think a reasonable price would be.

Hi Tebbs,
This is a difficult one as it is not easy and very time consuming.
Here at Lowestoft FC, we have produced an A3, full colour, wiro-bound calendar supporting 'Prostate Cancer Appeal Fund' selling for £4.99 each.
For this one 'all' the first team players have "got their kit off" quite literally!
Each page is sponsored by one or more local businesses and individuals, 37 in all.
I will bring one down on December 27th, just for Russell as a present.
"COME ON YOU BLUES"
Roger & Out.

Thanks Roger Wasn't thinking of getting the boys to strip off for this one, their football might be good on the eye but that's as far as I want to take it . Points taken on the time & price aspects of the project, was looking at a price where the club could make a bit of money without the need to sell the whole print run. So far I've only looked at commercial web based print firms using their templates & layouts, & that's how I've come up with the price range. Haven't put any thought into getting the printing costs subsidised by sponsorship. The main point of this post is to get some feedback on whether it is worth bothering Russell & co at the club with the Idea or not.

I'd take the fully clothed one only!- Personally I think its a great idea and I'm sure it would sell esp for a stocking filler but £15?-ouch!
Other money raiser is to get the grass roots (9 age groups plus the Wanderers) to have their own calendar with a page per age group. 300 kids with mums Dads and grand parents- must sell. I understand they are in the process of taking their team photos anyway.

Thanks mac yes £15 is to much & I would like to be able to do it for under £10. but after talking it over with a couple of people over the weekend I realize I've left it a bit late to do it properly this year. What with the need for page sponsors & alike. In saying that I haven't given up on the idea completely for this year & will keep you updated.
The grass roots calender could be a bit of a legal mine field with the need for all the parents to give there consent, along with CRB checks for any photographers. In the age we live in you have got to be very careful before you start taking pictures of other peoples kids.

Hi All
I have now had a test copy of the 2011 calendar printed & have ordered another 25 for the club which should be in the club shop on the 4th December (the Horsham home match) priced at £7.50. If you would like to see the sample copy it will be in the club shop this weekend
